Kewa Pueblo (Santo Domingo Pueblo)

Anthony Lovato is a fifth-generation Kewa (Santo Domingo Pueblo) artist. He is known for his tufa cast work, often featuring petroglyph and pictograph symbols. He is the son of notable lapidary artist Mary Coriz Lovato, and grandson of Santiago Leo Coriz. A graduate of Santa Fe’s Institute of American Indian Arts, Lovato lives and works in Santo Domingo Pueblo. In 2023 he was honored as the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture’s Living Treasure.

His sons Joel Pajarito, Cordell Pajarito, Noah Pajarito, and grandson Matthew Lovato have followed in his footsteps as notable jewelers in their own right.
